Co-Leads


  • Sierra Edwards is a clinical research professional and first-year medical student at Howard University College of Medicine with a passion for advancing health equity and empowering underserved communities. She brings years of experience in oncology and medical device trials, where her work has focused on improving patient outcomes through innovative research and equitable access to care

    Sierra is honored to serve as Co-Lead for Health Equity & Strategic Partnerships at The Beauty of Our Wellness because it allows her to merge her commitment to health equity with her dedication to uplifting and educating women in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region. In this role, she looks forward to creating meaningful partnerships, fostering culturally informed health education, and promoting wellness as a fundamental right for all women.

  • Heather Phillips is a seasoned leader in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry, with a career dedicated to advancing clinical research and improving health outcomes within diverse populations and underserved communities. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from St. Mary's College of Maryland and a Master degree in Human Physiology and Biophysics from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

    With extensive experience in clinical development and operations, Heather has led a wide range of clinical trials with a focus on therapies targeting conditions with unmet medical needs. Her deep understanding of both the U.S. and global healthcare systems allows her to bring scientific rigor and a strategic, inclusive approach to her work—ensuring that access, safety, and efficacy pf health care delivery are prioritized for all populations.

    In her current role as Health Equity Lead, Heather works to dismantle systemic barriers in healthcare by integrating equity into clinical research and development. Her work reflects a strong commitment to community-centered solutions and meaningful advocacy for lasting change.

    Beyond her professional achievements, Heather is deeply engaged in community service. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and a supporter of 501 (c) (3)  Ivy Vine Charities, Inc. in Montgomery County, MD. Heather is  a founding board member of Her Own Home, LLC—a nonprofit dedicated to removing barriers to homeownership for women of color through education and access to essential resources.

Public Relations & Marketing Lead


  • Logan White, a seasoned communications professional with a unique skill set, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to both her professional and volunteer work.

    As a Communications Manager at LinkedIn, Logan harnesses her storytelling prowess and strategic media relations skills to create economic opportunity for every member of the global workforce.

    Logan's impact extends beyond her professional achievements. She is a co-lead for the DC office’s Black Inclusion Group at LinkedIn, driving initiatives that foster diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization. She also serves as the PR/Marketing Chair of Thursday Network, the young professionals affiliate of the Greater Washington Urban League, committed to serving the Washington Metropolitan area through community programs and partnerships aligned with the Empowerment Goals of the National Urban League. Last but certainly not least, Logan is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, actively contributing to the organization’s legacy of leadership, scholarship, sisterhood, and service. 

    Logan joined 'The Beauty of our Wellness Luncheon' committee due to her passion for reproductive health, especially among Black women. As someone who battled endometriosis in high school, with her mother advocating tirelessly for proper treatment, she is committed to raising awareness and improving healthcare access for Black women confronting reproductive health challenges.
